From the title image of The Deserters, Tantrum's origin story, starring him and [link]

Protoform Tantrum, in almost full Battle Mode... he still extends about 4 feet taller because his upper legs detach from the thigh shielding, and a giant 2007-Movie-Blackout-esque spinning-fan-blade thinger pops out.... but that's just way too confusing to draw.... maybe eventually I'll draw him with just that bit extended. XD

Anyway, if you noticed... YES, he has red eyes..... *shifty glances* uh-oh.... we can only guess what that means.... ;)

My first thought was "You glomp this guy? Ouch!" My second thought was, "His legs look awfully thin...can they support his weight?"

lol XD This is what he looks like before he transforms into a car, and those blades do fold up out of reach... so, unless he plans to skewer you, it's not easy to hurt yourself glomping him. But.... they certainly are a glomp deterrent. (except to me.) XD

The legs are a good point. :D I do have an explanation... his cannons are mostly hollow, since they shoot concentrated balls of energy (endless and weightless ammo), but his legs are solid metal, so can support the weight of the cannons. He is designed to be more topheavy though, to make for easier momentum in swinging around to shoot stuff. :XD:

oh, also... I just realized XD another aspect of Transformers is that parts can condense or expand far beyond what we think a reasonable size would be. (Soundwave, for example, is about 4-5 times the size of a human, and he transforms into a palm-sized walkman radio.) Tantrum's left-hand cannon, therefore, is much huger than his actual left hand. It's the same size as the right... alleviating much of the top-heavy weight you see here. ^^;

Ok, that makes sense. *grin* Still looked a little odd the first time I saw it, but I was rather occupied with the "OMG BLADES!!!!"
