Lilith Najib'asmaa Shahnaz
Song: "Hell-Fire" by Inkubus Sukkubus Origin: Est. 4000 BC Mesopotamia Sire: Believed to be Chronos, the Queen Mother vampire Height: 59 in / 150 cm Weight: 100 lbs / 45 kg Mortal age: 14 years Immortal age (at end of story): ~6000 years Hair color: black Eye color: red Ethnicity: Eridusian Blood type: AB+ Here's the colored version of the "random Lilith" drawing I submitted a few weeks ago. Hope you like it This is replacing the original Lilith drawing I submitted, because as =Tepea pointed out, she looks more like Lilith in this one. Breakdown of Lilith's full name: Lilith = Derived from Assyrian "lilitu" meaning "of the night." The figure of Lilith first appeared in a class of wind and storm demons in Sumer, circa 4000 BC. Lilith is a mythological female storm demon associated with wind, and was thought to be a bearer of disease, illness, and death (in the context of YV, this association refers to her elder sister and partner in crime, Ereshkigal, who is widely believed to be the goddess of the underworld). It has also been suggested that Lilith was a goddess of the night, known also by the Jewish exiles in Babylon, but evidence for Lilith being a goddess rather than a demon is lacking. Najib'asmaa = "Asmaa" has the meaning "prestige" in Arabic, but when used as a suffix in conjunction with another name, the term translates to "noble daughter of (father's name)." In this case, the father's name is "Najib," which means "intelligence." Shahnaz = literally means "pride of the king" from Persian elements. In this case, it refers to Lilith being promised as a bride to the King of Uruk, and the name is added after this betrothal is arranged. The marriage never comes to pass, however, because Lilith is turned into a vampire. As the seductive, enigmatic, and undeniably threatening enemy, Lilith has one goal in life: to make all humans her personal meat puppets, and destroy any vampire who opposes her. She is the Magneto of Young Vampire, with one crucial exception: she has no mercy. Don't be fooled by the flawless, innocent exterior; she's a monster who will kill you in a heartbeat without a backwards glance. But why is she such a beast? What's the story behind her fury? And - possibly the most frightening question - was she ever anything else? Hell-fire and brimstone and blasphemy be mine... Fun trivia: Yeah, you read that age right, Lilith is only 14.
